Government Pest Control Sydney
Redback Commercial Pest Control Sydney is a registered NSW Government supplier delivering scheduled and reactive pest management to councils, public buildings, community facilities and government tenancies across metropolitan Sydney.
Why public-sector sites carry different pest risk
Public buildings are open to unrestricted foot traffic, they hold food waste in accessible external bin rooms, and they are frequently older assets with service penetrations, suspended ceilings and roof voids that have been modified many times over. That combination gives rodents, cockroaches and birds continuous harbourage and continuous food, while the building itself is occupied by members of the public who did not choose to be there.
Risk is also reputational and political. A rodent sighting in a library, a wasp nest above a playground or bird fouling on the entry stairs of a council chambers becomes a complaint to a councillor, not just a maintenance ticket. Public-sector pest programs therefore have to be preventive, evidenced and defensible — every inspection recorded, every chemical justified, every corrective action closed out with a date and a name against it.
Finally, public sites carry procurement obligations. Work must be performed by licensed technicians under approved SWMS, with APVMA-registered products, current SDS, public liability cover and insurance certificates that can be produced on request by a contract manager or auditor at any time.
Our public-sector program

Working inside NSW public procurement
Redback is listed on buy.nsw as a registered supplier and is actively engaged in NSW Health procurement, including South Western Sydney Local Health District tendering. That means our paperwork, insurances, WHS system and reporting formats are already built for government contract managers rather than retrofitted for them.
We work across council-owned assets, community facilities and government tenancies from our Sydney and Macarthur dispatch hubs, which keeps response times short across both the metropolitan core and the south-west growth corridor.
- Council administration buildings, depots and works yards
- Libraries, community centres and neighbourhood halls
- Aquatic centres, sportsgrounds, grandstands and amenities blocks
- Parks, reserves, playgrounds and public bin surrounds
- Government office tenancies and public-facing service counters
Questions we get asked
Are you a registered NSW Government supplier?
Yes. Redback trades as 1800-REDBACK PEST CONTROL PTY LTD, ABN 50 664 332 852, and holds a registered supplier profile on buy.nsw. Supplier documentation can be issued to your procurement team on request.
Can you work outside public opening hours?
Yes. Most council and public-facility work is scheduled before opening, after closing or during scheduled facility closures so there is no interaction with the public during treatment.
What happens when a member of the public reports a pest?
We accept reactive callouts directly from facility staff or your contact centre, attend within the agreed response window, and issue a written outcome report with photos that can be used to close the complaint.
Do you provide SWMS and SDS before starting?
Yes. A site-specific SWMS and the SDS for every product proposed are supplied before the first attendance and reissued whenever the method or product changes.
Can you service multiple council sites under one contract?
Yes. Multi-site delivery is our standard model — one contract, one reporting portal, per-site schedules and a consolidated trend report across the whole asset portfolio.
We use your property size and location to calculate real-time local chemical rates — takes under 60 seconds.
