HACCP Pest Control Sydney
Redback Pest Control Sydney is certified as a HACCP-based pest control company. Our management system is built for healthcare, food preparation, food storage and other hygiene-sensitive environments — pest management written as a HACCP prerequisite program, not a service call.
Pest control is a prerequisite program, not a service call
Under HACCP, pest management sits in your prerequisite programs alongside cleaning and sanitation. Auditors do not ask whether you have a pest contractor — they ask to see the site plan, the numbered device register, the inspection frequency, the trend data, the corrective actions raised and closed, the approved chemical list and the licence and insurance records behind it. A gap in any one of those is a non-conformance regardless of whether pests were found.
Because Redback operates its own HACCP-based management system — documented pest management procedures, chemical registers and inventory controls, approved supplier controls, SDS and product label evidence, corrective action registers, training and GHP toolbox records and audit evidence registers — the evidence your auditor asks for already exists before they walk on site.
The physical risk profile in food sites is unforgiving too. Stored product insects arrive inside incoming raw materials and multiply inside pallets and silos. Rodents follow inbound freight into dock areas. Flies breed in waste and floor drains. Cockroaches live behind hot equipment and inside motor housings. Every one of those is a contamination pathway to product that leaves your site under your name.
Food sites also run on production windows. A treatment that requires shutdown during a production run is not viable, so programs have to be designed around changeovers, sanitation windows and scheduled maintenance days.
Our HACCP pest program
Numbered device register
External bait stations, internal monitors, insect light traps and pheromone traps all numbered, mapped and logged at every service.
Site plan and zoning
A current site plan showing every device, with zones rated by product exposure and inbound goods risk.
Stored product insect monitoring
Pheromone trapping and trend counts to detect infestation inside raw materials before it reaches finished product.
Fly management
Insect light trap servicing, catch tray analysis, drain treatment and dock air-curtain review.
Rodent exclusion
Dock seals, door sweeps, penetration sealing and perimeter control to stop entry rather than manage it internally.
Corrective action loop
Every finding raised with a responsibility, a due date and verification at the following service.

Built for Sydney's food manufacturing corridors
Sydney's food production and distribution is concentrated in the western and south-western industrial corridors and around the airport freight precinct — Wetherill Park, Smithfield, Eastern Creek, Erskine Park, Prestons, Moorebank, Alexandria and Botany. These are high-turnover sites with heavy inbound freight, large dock openings and 24-hour operations, and they carry the highest stored product insect and rodent pressure in the state.
Redback services food, healthcare and hygiene-sensitive sites across Sydney, the Central Coast and Wollongong, drawing on more than three decades of pest and termite experience — including K9 termite detection and full termite management where food and healthcare buildings also carry structural risk.
We build programs for that reality: night and changeover attendance, dock-focused exclusion, and reporting that a third-party auditor can read without asking a single follow-up question.
- Food manufacturing and processing plants
- Bakeries, commercial kitchens and central production units
- Cold storage, chilled distribution and food warehousing
- Restaurants, cafés and multi-site hospitality groups
- Hospitals, aged care kitchens and ward pantries
- Childcare and school canteens
Questions we get asked
Is Redback actually HACCP certified?
Yes. Redback Pest Control Sydney is certified as a HACCP-based pest control company, and our management system is designed for healthcare, food preparation, food storage and other hygiene-sensitive environments. Certification evidence is supplied with tender and contract documentation.
Will your documentation satisfy a third-party food safety audit?
Yes. We maintain the site plan, numbered device register, service history, trend analysis, approved chemical list, SDS, training records and corrective action register that auditors request, and it is available on demand rather than compiled after the fact.
Can you service outside production hours?
Yes. Food sites are typically serviced during sanitation windows, changeovers or night shift so there is no interruption to production and no exposure risk to exposed product.
How do you handle stored product insects in raw materials?
We use pheromone monitoring with trend counts to identify the source batch or storage location, then work with your receiving process to isolate and address it at intake rather than treating finished goods areas repeatedly.
What happens if pests are found during an audit?
A corrective action is raised immediately with a documented method, responsibility and completion date, and we attend to verify closure. That evidence trail is usually what determines whether a finding is closed or escalated.
Do you provide the approved chemical list auditors ask for?
Yes. Every product used on site is APVMA-registered, listed with its registration details and SDS, controlled through our chemical register and reviewed annually as part of the program review.
We use your property size and location to calculate real-time local chemical rates — takes under 60 seconds.
